A Peek at Bolinao, Pangasinan's Wonderful Cave

The name might be too so-so to some, but for me,  it was one of the secret gems of the beautiful province of Bolinao, Pangasinan that is ought visiting. A dip on its cool, crystal clear water might be enough, but hey, if you have more time like me, why don't you spend a day cooling down at Wonderful Cave!

Located a few minutes from our hotel resort in Bolinao, Pangasinan - Puerto del Sol - this Wonderful Cave is an attraction that you can check out while exploring this peaceful and romantic province in the northern part of Luzon.

I wasn't amazed upon hearing its name and seeing how the facade of  the place was poorly renovated to accommodate guests, but experiencing its pool of water, which we assumed came from the trees of mountain made my first visit here really relaxing and fun.

The cave isn't that big but albeit the small space, the pool of water in it feels so clean and fresh - mineral water at its finest, indeed. An experience fit for this scorching hot weather.

A fee will be collected from guests upon entering the vicinity, but I guess, if you are checking in at Puerto del Sol, like what we did, you can get in for free.

Wonderful Cave is under the management of the family whose house is standing just some few steps from it. Technically, according to them, the cave is part of their land, but since they find a potential for it to be a tourist destination, they opened their gates to share its beauty and pristine.

During hot season, the pool of water is at waist deep, but according to the guard there, during rainy season, the water level can go up, high enough to drown a person.

There are tiny little caves inside, which gives this lounge-y feel, so don't be afraid to see those too. Don't worry, according to the locals there, this place is snake free, so you'll have a relaxing stay inside this cave.

So, if ever you're in Bolinao, Pangasinan, and don't have this place in your itinerary, better include it for this might be the hidden gem you are looking for here in Bolinao, Pangasinan!

Happy rammmpa!

  2. Reminds me of Bantayan's Ogtong Cave. The water does look very inviting!
