Azalea Residences: A Refreshing Take on Baguio's Accommodation

With the culminating activities of Panagbenga Festival 2014 just around the corner, which include the grand street dance and float parade, I know that a lot of you are now preparing for the weekend to witness one of the freshest, blossoming and really colorful festivals in the country. But wait, before you pack your bags and head up on to the mountains, let me ask you this - Do you have a place to stay? I'm not sure if they are already fully booked now, but if not yet, then let me tell you why Azalea Residences is the best place in Baguio City to stay in for the Panagbenga Festival 2014.

Celebrated on the entire month of February, few months before the country faces another exciting summer season, Panagbenga is one festival that's no doubt keeps making this city in the Cordillera more lovely. With its natural beauty that comes from its people, beautiful tourist spots and great bargains, don't be surprise why the Summer Capital of the Philippines keeps on blossoming and keeps on attracting more tourists, both local and international.

And one addition to its beauty that never fails to amaze me, the newly established and well-kept Azalea Residences.

The Lobby, Eight Degrees Bar, Hallway and the Playground

The first all-suite vacation residence in the City of Pines, Azalea Residences presents Baguio holiday-seekers the full services and amenities of a serviced apartment complete with living, dining and kitchen facilities in all its rooms.

I've been to many Baguio hotels before, and I must say that this is the first time that I've been to a hotel that feels like home. The grand facade (something that I wish we have at home. haha!) displays a very artistic look that welcomes everyone to this family-friendly place. The spacious lobby lounge which is just so accommodating to all guests, the playground that can add more fun time to your kids and the restaurant that I find exquisitely perfect for my hunger needs.

With my roomie, THE Maan Pamaran of Manila Bulletin, we were accommodated to a two-bedroom suite that has a nice living area with sofa bed and flat screen cable TV; a dining area with dining table, chairs and crockery; a kitchen that comes with kitchen appliances and utensils, coffee and tea-making facilities; and two bedrooms with queen sized beds clothed in imported bed linens with master bathroom on the master bedroom.

The Maan Pamaran find her comfort zone at the master's bedroom, while I enjoyed the other room with windows displaying the hotel grounds.

Welcome Treats

Upon checking in to our beautiful room, some sweet treats were delivered to us as welcoming gifts. Glad to have them just before our scheduled tour because more than the cool weather, Baguio's fresh food are the next thing that I love. But if you want a complete sample of Azalea Residence best dishes, I suggest that you pay a visit to their in-house restaurant, Tradisyon.

Interior of Tradisyon

Offering "Pinoy Comfort Food", you'll be surprised how they made our favorite Filipino dishes sincerely good - everything here is so great! Well, thanks to their chefs, Chef David Charles Griffiths and his executive sous chef Dennis Chua, who prepared all of these! Bravo! (watch out for my review on Lafanggero!)

The staff here are genuinely accommodating and approachable, something that adds great points for me to stay here when I visited the city again.

There's no doubt that Panagbenga Festival is one fun, colorful and exciting celebration, but it could be so tiring too. That's why I'm suggesting that if ever you are taking your chance on this weekend's festivity, choose it with Azalea Residences. For me, nothing beats a place that offers that same comfort as your home.
